Here's a little utility for FS95/FS98/CFS/FS2000 that modifies aircraft
"overspeed" settings. I recently noticed that not all freeware flight
dynamics editors for these sims include such an option. Therefore, I offer
this humble little program for those who think the visual and/or auditory
overspeed warnings appear at inappropriate speeds. To install, simply place
the enclosed OVRMOD.EXE file in any subfolder, on any drive. I personally
keep mine in my \FS2000\AIRCRAFT subfolder.

THIS PROGRAM REQUIRES VISUAL BASIC 4.0 DRIVER FILES. They can be obtained
from numerous sources, such as the "Must Have Files" library at
www.flightsim.com.

The overspeed parameter is encoded in terms of "Mach" numbers. Keep in
mind that one Mach equals the speed of sound which, at sea level on a 70F
degree day, is about 670 knots (771.5 mph). Since MSFS aircraft hardly ever
go as fast as 2000 knots, the highest Mach number you will probably ever need
is about 3. To keep you from possibly getting error messages, the program
ignores any input number higher than 5.

Upon running OVRMOD.EXE, the interface is meant to be self-explanatory.
Drive, folder and file "boxes" allow you to find AIR files using standard
Windows file searching techniques. When the desired file is highlit, its
current maximum Mach is displayed. Entering a new number (decimal fractions
are OK) and clicking the SEND button will write the new value to the file.
The new number will show up in the "current" box, indicating that the process
is complete.

I hereby declare this utility to be in the Public Domain. It shouldn't
harm your equipment but, if you imagine it has, I accept no liability.
